My Favorite Mercola Videos
Do you watch videos on YouTube? As a sports fan, YouTube allows me to watch highlight reels of games I’ve missed and save them on my account so I can watch them over and over.
Comedy and music videos are always among the most viewed on YouTube. In fact, you’ve probably watched the top YouTube video of all time, which was done by comedian Judson Laipply.
YouTube is a powerful and popular medium to get people’s attention and send messages across. As I’ve shared in my first blog post, I first became aware of Mercola.com through a YouTube video. This particular video changed my way of thinking when it came to matters related to my health and made me turn over a new leaf.
I want to share my top seven Mercola videos (so far) to give you an idea of who Dr. Mercola is, what he believes in and stands for, and how he can empower you to take control of your health.
- Most Astonishing Health Disaster of the 20th Century – This is the video that opened my eyes to what’s happening to the US healthcare system. Watch it and be the judge.
- How the Food Industry is Deceiving You – A five-part video series by the late Peter Jennings that takes a look into the food industry and how it compromises your health, for example, marketing more processed foods and granting more subsidies for producers of sugar and fat than those growing fruits and vegetables.
- How Increased Sun Exposure Could Save Millions Of Lives – I used to think that too much sun was bad for me. This video made me do research on the truth about sun exposure and the benefits of vitamin D. Now I know just how important it is to go out and get some sun.
- “Natural” Soft Drinks Exposed – I completely agree with this one. I drank a lot of carbonated drinks when I was in high school and only lessened my intake when my dad, who also drank a lot of soft drinks, found out that he was diabetic. Now, I rarely drink any soft drinks, including my favorite root beer. It’s a struggle but I know it’s worth it.
- Is Your Cereal Healthy – One of several videos where Dr. Mercola plays “food police” in supermarkets.
- The Town of Allopath – This controversial video isn’t produced by Dr. Mercola but he’s hosting it on Mercola.com because it parodies the state of healthcare in America. I think of it as an animated and watered-down version of Most Astonishing Health Disaster of the 20th Century.
- Dr. Mercola in Zero G – I would love to experience this in the future! This video shows that a serious health professional like Dr. Mercola can have some serious fun.
Well, there you have it. Next time you log in to YouTube, don’t just look for the latest music videos and comedy acts, amazing feats or jaw-dropping plays. The Internet can also be the medium that will help you make a commitment to get healthy and stay healthy.
Happy browsing!
